Netrakona: A patrolling team of the Bangladesh Army detained two individuals on charges of impersonating members of the Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police from the Hamidpur Bazar area in Sadar Upazila of the district last night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals have been identified as Al Mamun, 44, son of Abdul Halim Master from Shamganj village under Mymensing district, and Khairul Islam, 42, son of Jainal Abedin from Charpara village under the same district. They were apprehended while allegedly attempting to rob passengers on a Dhaka-bound bus named Sent Martin Poribohan at Hamidpur Bazar, masquerading as Detective Branch officers.
The second in command of the Netrakona army camp, Major Zisanul Haider, stated that the army team also seized two unregistered motorcycles from the possession of the detainees. Following their arrest, the individuals and the seized motorcycles were handed over to the Netrakona Model Police Station for further investigation.
