Dhaka: Four dengue patients died and 1,306 patients were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till this morning. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) detailed the distribution of new hospitalizations across various divisions. Barishal division saw 118 new cases, Chattogram reported 214, while Dhaka recorded 255 in the city, 277 in Dhaka North, and 144 in Dhaka South. Other regions such as Khulna, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Sylhet also reported new hospitalizations, with Khulna seeing 154, Rajshahi 57, Mymensingh 31, Rangpur 47, and Sylhet nine.
The cumulative data for the current year shows a total of 64,471 dengue cases, with 314 fatalities attributed to the disease. This marks a significant public health concern as the numbers continue to rise. In comparison, the previous year recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths with a total of 321,179 infections, highlighting the ongoing challenge posed
by dengue in the country.
