Dhaka: Month-long services are set to be provided to taxpayers across all tax zones this November to facilitate the submission of income tax returns. National Board of Revenue (NBR) has opted to extend return submission-related services for taxpayers instead of organizing an income tax fair, as stated in an NBR press release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a comprehensive program offering income tax information and services will be undertaken throughout November. This initiative aims to develop a tax culture, increase tax awareness, and gain the trust and confidence of taxpayers. Various services will be offered in each tax zone throughout the Income Tax Information-Services Month, allowing eligible taxpayers to file their personal income tax returns for the tax year 2024-2025.
Each tax zone’s website will provide essential resources such as income tax forms, circulars, return filing guidelines, video tutorials, and other necessary information. Return acceptance booths and help desks will b
e established in open spaces at each office to facilitate the submission process and offer immediate acknowledgment receipts to taxpayers.
Furthermore, services like e-TIN registration, online return registration, online return filing, and e-payment options will be available at the Income Tax Information Service Center. In addition, specific facilities for government officers and employees at Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka, will be managed by Tax Zone-4 and Tax Zone-16 until November 18. The Planning Commission will receive these services from November 24-28, while Dhaka University will host similar services on November 18-19, under the management of Tax Zone-11, Dhaka.
Taxpayers are especially encouraged to file returns online, and training on online return registration and filing procedures will be provided to members of the armed forces with the assistance of Tax Zone-9, Dhaka, ensuring they can submit their returns online efficiently.
In celebration of Income Tax Information Service Month 2024, an exten
sive publicity campaign is being conducted across radio, television, print, and online media. Special supplements in national dailies will feature messages, articles, and pictures of prominent figures such as the President, Chief Adviser, Finance Adviser, NBR Chairman, and others. Additionally, meetings and discussion programs involving NBR senior officials, business leaders, and related dignitaries are scheduled on various TV channels to increase public awareness about paying income tax.
To further boost public awareness, motivational posters, stickers, balloons, colorful festoons, and banners will be displayed in various tax zones.
