Shramadhan Mela recommends jobs for 85 aspiring workers

The two-day Shramadhan Mela (Employment Fair) that concluded in Dhangadi on Tuesday recommended 85 aspiring workers.

The fair was organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sudurpaschim Province government, Dhangadi Sub-Metropolitan City and Federation of Professional Training and Employment of Nepal.

In the fair that had 37 consultations stalls where aspiring employees would meet their prospective employers, 2,669 had applied for jobs.

Among them, 85 eligible candidates were recommended for jobs, said Janak Singh Ukheda, Chief of Labour and Employment Office, Dhangadi, according to the organizers.

Chief Ukheda said that while the national economy was weak in the country at present, the employment has facilitated between the employer and prospective employees seeking better employment opportunities.

According to him, Sudurpaschim Province was reeling under human resources crunch in the technical sector such as operator, engineer and technician among others.

Over 10,150 visitor
s visited the fair that helped promote skills development, encourage entrepreneurship, stimulate economic growth, enhance public-private partnerships and empower youths besides helping aspiring candidates in their job hunt.
