One gets 17 years imprisonment in C’nawabganj arms case

A Chapainawabganj court on Sunday

afternoon sentenced one person to 17 years imprisonment in an arms case.

The convicted person was Manarul Islam, 32, son of late Fazlur Rahman of

Choto Hadinagar Kamal Tola under Shibganj upazila in the district.

The District and Senior Session Judge and also the Judge of Special Tribunal

-1 Md Adeeb Ali announced the verdict in presence of the convict.

According to the prosecution story, acting on a tip off an operation team of

RAB-5 raided at Kolkolia village under Shibganj upazila of the district on

December 14, 2021 at night and arrested Manarul with two pistols, four

magazines and six bullets.

Next day Nayeb Subedar of RAB AKM Rabiul Islam filed a case with Shibganj

thana accusing Manarul.

Investigating officer of the case Sub-inspector Md Mesbahul Hoque of Shibganj

thana submitted charge sheet against Manarul to the court on December 31,

2021.

After hearing the court handed down the punishment.
