Valiant freedom fighter Abdul Khaleque passes away

DHAKA, Valiant freedom fighter and noted social worker of Jhalokhati Sadar Upazila Abdul Khaleque died of old age complications at his village home last night at the age of 74.

Khaleque, father of joint general secretary of Amra Muktijoddhar Santan (AMUS) and Deputy Commissioner (TAX) Al Amin Mridhul, breathed his last at 11.15pm on Monday, family sources said.

He left behind five sons, five daughters, grandsons, granddaughters and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

His Namaj-e-Janaza was held at his village Sawrakhati Jame Mosque of Jhalokhati Sadar Upazila.

After the Namaj-e-Janaza, the full state of honour was given to this valiant freedom fighter on behalf of the Upazila administration.

Assistant Commissioner (land) M Saiful Islam on behalf of the upazila administration paid homage to his coffin by placing a wreath.

Later, he was buried at his family graveyard.

ogy University Vice Chancellor Dr Kazi Saifuddin, Awami League’s Finance and Planning Affairs Central Sub-committee Member Jobayeda Huq Ajanta and AMU’s General Secretary Mohammad Rasheduzzaman Shahin also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Khaleque.

They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
