National Legal Aid Services Day observed in Khulna

National Legal Aid Services Day-2024 was

observed in Khulna today (Sunday) like elsewhere across the country with a

view to ensuring the rule of law, fundamental human rights and justice for

everyone.

According to Article 27 of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of

Bangladesh, all are equal before the law, and all are entitled to equal

protection of the law. In order to make this right a reality, the ‘National

Legal Aid Provision Act 2000’ has been enacted.

Khulna District National Legal Aid Services Organisation has taken various

programmes to chalk out the day in the city.

Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated

the programme at district Judge Court premises this morning.

The programme includes rally, discussion and legal fair.

A colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the District Judge

Court and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the city.

Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed the

rally as the chief guest.

Chairman of Khulna District National Aid Committee Mahmuda Khatun,

Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police Mozammel Haque, Superintendent of

Khulna District Police Sayedur Rahman, President of Khulna Lawyers

Association Advocate Saiful Islam, among others, were present.

On the occasion, a legal aid fair was inaugurated by Mayor Khaleque after the

rally.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the District Judge Court premises.
