Phulpati brought to Rajdevi Shrine in Janakpur with fanfare

Mahendranagar (Dhanusha): The Phulpati, an assortment of flowers, leaves and fruits of different parts considered auspicious, has been carried all the way to Rajdevi Shrine in Janakpurdham of Dhanusha district on Phulpati on Saturday. The day marks the seventh day of the ongoing 10-day Dashain festival.

A team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police brought the Phulpati into the Temple of the Goddess considered to the clan deity of King Janak.

The Nepali Army offered a salute in course of carrying the Phulpati while the local devotees played the musical instruments while the Phulpati was being brought to the shrine.

The devotees then offered a worship under the Stone Apple (bel) tree nearby the Shrine as per the Hindu traditions. Major shrines related to Goddess Durga such as Boudhhimai, Amarkhana Mai, Bhagwati Mandir, and Sonasati among others have been drawing considerable number of devotees since the beginning of the Dashain.

A special fair is also organized in Rajdevi Temple where security personnel are mobilized adequately to facilitate the devotees thronging the shrine and avoid possible untoward activities.
