Teknaf: The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 95,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth approximately Taka 4.75 crore in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar, authorities said on Wednesday. “On a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf at 6 am today in the Parabon area, near South Jaliapara under Teknaf Police Station and seized the yaba tablets,” said Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, Media Officer of the Coast Guard.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Siam-ul-Haq stated that the suspected smugglers fled upon noticing the presence of the Coast Guard personnel. The seized Yaba tablets have been confiscated, and legal action is underway.
He further added that the Coast Guard will continue operations to curb drug smuggling and ensure the safety and security of the region.
