Shibganj: A total of 8,000 small and marginal farmers in Shibganj upazila of the district have received Aush paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers under the government’s agricultural incentive program for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mazharul Islam inaugurated the distribution program on Thursday morning at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, while Upazila Agriculture Officer Nayan Mia presided over the program.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department. Speaking at the event, the UNO emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and undertaking initiatives to strengthen the agricultural sector and boost production.
Officials reported that each beneficiary farmer received 5 kilograms of Aush paddy seeds, along with 10 kilograms of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertilizer and 10 kilograms of MOP (Muriate of Potash) fertilizer. The event was attended by several officials, including Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Sanjay Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman, and Rural Development Officer Shahin Akhtar.
