Dhaka: A total of 76 people were arrested in separate drives conducted by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in Tejgaon and Motijheel areas for their alleged involvement in various offences.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 66 individuals were apprehended during a 24-hour drive by the Tejgaon Division, as detailed in a DMP press release. The arrests were carried out across multiple police stations, including seven from Tejgaon Police Station, five from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 25 from Mohammadpur, 12 from Adabor, six from Tejgaon Industrial Area, and 11 from Hatirjheel.
In a separate operation, Motijheel Police conducted a special operation on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 10 people from different crime-prone areas under the police station's jurisdiction.
The arrestees from both operations were subsequently produced before the courts following necessary legal procedures.
