7,400 Liters of Illegally Stored Diesel Seized in Narail

Narail: A total of 7,400 liters of illegally stored diesel were seized in a drive in Kaliganj upazila of Narail on Monday night.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Kaliganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam stated that a drive was conducted on Baripara Ferrighat Road. During this operation, a nosimon vehicle coming from Khulna was stopped, leading to the recovery of 1,800 liters of diesel stored in nine barrels. The owner, Pintu Sheikh, of Mauli village, was unable to provide legal documents for the fuel and was subsequently fined Tk 10,000.



Meanwhile, a separate drive was conducted by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Shraboni Biswas in Kalabaria. This operation resulted in the seizure of 5,600 liters of diesel stored in 28 barrels from a truck. The fuel was being transported illegally for sale by Khairul Sheikh of Jogania village, who was fined Tk 25,000 for failing to present valid papers.



UNO Jinnatul Islam emphasized that the administration will continue its crackdown against illegal fuel hoarding and sale. The seized 7,400 liters of diesel will be sold at government-fixed prices at Kaliganj Filling Station.
