Dhaka: The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested seven alleged drug traffickers from the city’s Gulshan and Mohammadpur areas and seized 450 grams of cocaine from their possessions here on Sunday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team of the DB Lalbagh division, acting on a tip-off, raided the DNCC Market area under Gulshan-2 at about 5:10 pm and arrested four people along with 100 grams of cocaine. The arrestees are identified as Milon, Mehedi, Tariqul, and Fahim.
The same team, based on the information given by the arrested individuals, raided Salimullah Road under Mohammadpur Thana on Sunday midnight and arrested three other alleged drug traffickers along with 350 grams of cocaine. The arrested persons are identified as Md Rakib, Shahidul, and Awal.
Police stated that the arrested individuals are members of an organized drug trafficking gang and have been involved in drug trading in the city’s different areas, including Gulshan, for a long time. A case has been filed in this regard, and the arrested drug traffickers have been sent to court for further legal action.
