68.45 Percent of Students Pass SSC and Equivalent Exams in Bangladesh

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Controllers’ Committee announced today that 68.45 percent of students who appeared for this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have passed. The committee’s chief and Dhaka Education Board chairman, Professor Dr. Khandoker Ehsanul Kabir, revealed the results during a press conference held at his office.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the results were published simultaneously at 2 PM by the 11 education boards, including those overseeing madrasah and technical education. A total of 1,904,086 students participated in the exams across the country’s nine general education boards, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, and Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Out of these, 1,303,426 students passed, with 139,032 obtaining a GPA of 5.



Kabir further detailed that among the examinees, 951,697 were male and 952,389 were female, with pass rates of 65.88 and 71.03 percent, respectively. In terms of top grades, 65,416 male students and 73,616 female students secured a GPA 5. Additionally, 427 expatriate candidates participated from eight foreign centers, with 373 passing, resulting in an 87.35 percent pass rate.



The general education boards saw 1,006,554 out of 1,479,310 candidates pass, resulting in a pass rate of 68.4 percent. Among these, 125,018 candidates achieved a GPA 5. The Madrasa Education Board reported a pass rate of 68.09 percent, with 195,115 students passing and 9,066 obtaining a GPA 5. From the Technical Education Board, 117,757 out of 138,204 candidates passed, marking a 73.63 percent pass rate, and 4,948 students achieved a GPA 5.



Regionally, the Dhaka Board reported a pass rate of 67.51 percent, Rajshahi Board 77.63 percent, Cumilla Board 63.60 percent, Jashore Board 73.69 percent, Chattogram Board 72.07 percent, Barisal Board 56.38 percent, Sylhet Board 68.57 percent, Dinajpur Board 67.03 percent, and Mymensingh Board 58.22 percent. The Madrasa Education Board had a pass rate of 68.09 percent, while the Technical Education Board recorded 73.63 percent. Notably, 984 educational institutions achieved a 100 percent pass rate.



The SSC and equivalent examinations for this year commenced on April 10 and concluded on May 15, 2025.
