Dhaka: Police of Mohammadpur, Dakshinkhan, Bangshal, Motijheel, and Turag stations under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 51 people involved in criminal activities across the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DMP's press release issued today detailed that police conducted special drives in various crime-prone areas, resulting in the arrests. The operations were part of a concerted effort to curb crime within the city limits.
The release outlined that Mohammadpur police arrested 25 individuals, including Sabbir, 22; Rakib, 23; Siam Ahmed Tuhin, 24; Ibrahim, 25; Shakil, 25; Russel, 28; Suruj, 30; Manik, 33; Monir, 45; Sujon, 22; Raihan, 26; Naim, 26; Jahangir, 28; Abdullah Al Noman, 30; Mahazabin Nasrin, 25; Bashir, 29; Solaiman, 24; Saiful Islam, 30; Shanto, 19; Kajal, 50; Shaheen, 30; Arif Hossain, 23; Rafsan, 27; Rubel, 28; and Tajim Ibn Jalil, 32.
In the Dakshinkhan area, police apprehended four suspects, identified as Shanto Islam, 21; Md Rakibul Hasan Rubel; Kaiyum Bhuiyan, 40; and Mst Khukumoni, 45. Meanwhile, Bangshal police conducted a similar operation, netting 11 individuals, including Md Ashik Iqbal and others.
Motijheel police reported the detention of six individuals, including Md Imon Hossain Rony alias Pipe Rony; Md Nur Islam alias Nayan Islam, 28; Md Nazmul Haque, 28; Md Talim Hossain, 28; Manik Mia, 54; and Md Mojibor, 28. Additionally, Turag police arrested five individuals: Md Aminul Islam Sohag, 26; Sheikh Shahanaz Mahi, 25; Md Sharif, 19; Md Tanvir Haque, 21; and Md Tanzil, 19.
The DMP stated that following the completion of legal formalities, all the arrested individuals have been presented before the court.
