Dhaka:A total of 506 people were arrested and 40 cases were filed during regular anti-crime operations conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) across the capital over the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests took place in various areas under the jurisdiction of different police stations in Dhaka. The breakdown of arrests includes 43 by the Ramna Division, 52 by Lalbagh, 52 by Wari, 68 by Motijheel, 99 by Tejgaon, 114 by Mirpur, 37 by Gulshan, 38 by Uttara, and three by the Detective Branch.
During these operations, police recovered 400 grams of cannabis, 4,314 yaba tablets, two "sweet gear" items, one banner, six masks, 11 mobile phones, Tk 5,100 in cash, and one victim. The DMP mentioned that these operations were conducted in various areas of the capital, resulting in the recovery of narcotics and items, as well as arrests.
Legal proceedings against those arrested are currently underway.
