50,000 Cubic Feet of Illegally Quarried Stone Seized in Sylhet

Sylhet: Around 50,000 cubic feet of stone, looted from a quarry in Companiganj upazila, has been seized in a drive by the Sylhet Sadar Upazila administration. The operation took place at a crusher mill in the Dhopagul area of Sadar Upazila on Saturday afternoon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Executive Magistrate Mehdi Hasan Hridoy led the drive, assisted by members of RAB-9. A significant quantity of illegally stored stones was confiscated during the operation. Sylhet Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khoshnur Rubaiyat confirmed the incident, stating that approximately 50,000 cubic feet of stone were seized from the crusher mill by the upazila administration.



Legal action is expected to be taken against those involved in the illegal quarrying and storage of the stones.
