A total of 40 trainees received Taka eight
lakh loan with nominal interest from a project of Bangladesh Rural
Development Board (BRDB) here on Sunday for income generating activities.
Sadar upazila administration and upazila BRDB Office jointly organised a
function in the auditorium of upazila parishad of the town this noon under
'Gaibandha Integrated Rural Poverty Eradication' project funded by government
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, MP, addressed the
function as the chief guest while Upazila Engineer of Local Government
Engineering Department (LGED) Abul Kalam Azad Mollah and Organising Secretary
of district Awami League Mridul Mostafi Jhantu were present as special
UNO Uttam Kumar Roy presided over the ceremony while Sundarganj Upazila
Rural Development Officer (RDO) Abul Kalam Azad moderated the function.
Gini asked the trainees to use the loan money properly for changing their
fortunes economically and to keep contribution to build a poverty and hunger-
free prosperous nation.

sincerely and honestly for the beneficiaries of the project to attain its
Later, the whip formally distributed cheques of loan among the
beneficiaries. Each of them got a cheque for Taka 20,000. Besides, the
trainees were also given Taka 1.65 lakh as allowance in the function.
Earlier, they were imparted 15-day long training on embroidery, jute
products making and rural electrician at the arrangement of the Upazila Rural
Upazila level officials, public representatives, political leaders, and
journalists were present on the occasion.
