4 held with ganja, phensedyl in Natore, Rajshahi

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in

two separate anti-crime operations, arrested four alleged drug peddlers with

50 kilograms of ganja and 85 bottles of phensedyl in Natore and Rajshahi

districts last night.

The arrested were identified as Rafiqul Hawlader, 24, son of late Razab Ali,

Yeasin Kabir, 20, son of Alamgir Hossain, Abul Kalam, 28, son of Nur Isam,

and Shahen Shah, 26, son of Zillur Rahman, RAB sources said here this

morning.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Boroharishpur

bypass area under Sadar upazila of Natore district around 4.30am and arrested

Rafiqul and Yeasin Kabir with the hemp red-handed after searching a Rajshahi-

bound truck, RAB sources said.

In another drive conducted in Borobangram area under Shah Makhdum Police

Station in Rajshahi city around 11.30 pm, another team of the RAB nabbed Abul

Kalam and Shahen Shah and seized 85 bottles of phensedyl and a motorbike from

their possession.

The arrested persons with the seized contraband goods were handed over to the

police.

Separate cases were filed with the respective police stations in these

connections.
