371 Fresh Dengue Cases Recorded Overnight in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Health officials today reported the recording of 371 fresh cases of dengue infections within the past 24 hours. “During the period, (of the 371) 69 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 91 in Chattogram division, 46 in Dhaka division, 32 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 57 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 34 in Khulna division, 23 in Mymensingh division, 17 in Rajshahi division and two in Sylhet division,” a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, since the onset of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has recorded a total of 54 deaths and 15,681 cases of the disease this year. Last year, the dengue virus resulted in 413 fatalities and affected 102,861 individuals across the country.



In 2024, the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and afflicted 101,214 people. The rising numbers underscore the ongoing struggle against the dengue virus in Bangladesh, with health authorities continuously monitoring and addressing this public health challenge.
