33 Additional Deputy Inspectors General Promoted to Deputy Inspectors General

Dhaka: The government today promoted 33 Additional Deputy Inspectors General (Adi-DIG) of police to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General (DIG).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification signed by its Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman, detailing the promotion of 31 Adi-DIGs to DIG rank. Additionally, two more officers were promoted through a separate gazette notification.

The list of promoted officials includes several key figures from various police departments. Among them are Ali Ajbar Khan, Commandant of Range Reserve Force (RRF) in Dhaka, and Md Shahriar, Additional DIG at the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU). Other notable promotions include Md Abdullah Al Mamun and Dr Mohammad Abdul Kader from the Special Branch (SB), and Md Ekramul Habib from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Additional promotions were conferred upon Md Masum Billah Talukder from ATU, Md Nazmul Hossain from SB, and Md Ashik Sayeed from police headquarters. The Joint Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Md Anisur Rahman, and Sarwar Morshed Shamim from police headquarters were also elevated to the DIG rank.

Further, the list includes Dr Md Al Mamnul Ansari from CID, Mohammad Abdul Mabud from Dhaka range, and Abu Rayhan Muhammad Saleh, Additional Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP). Additional Deputy Inspectors from the Highway Police, Armed Police Battalion (APBn), and various other branches also received promotions.

The separate gazette notification highlighted the promotion of Mohammad Enamul Haque, Joint Commissioner of DMP, and Md Humayun Kabir, Commandant of RRF Sylhet, to the rank of supernumerary DIGs, marking significant recognition in their professional careers.
