Dhaka: On the occasion of the Youth Festival-2025, under the slogan of "Come change the country, change the world", 322 students today received bags and bicycles in Shibganj upazila of the district. The event was held at the Upazila Parishad premises, marking the culmination of the Upazila Administration Olympiad's mega debate competition.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the competition spanned over a month and involved 30 educational institutions across the upazila. It concluded with 71 first-place winners receiving bicycles, while 251 students were given bags. The objective of the programme is to recognize and inspire students for their exceptional knowledge, talent, and logical thinking.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Solaiman was present at the event as the chief guest, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Azahar Ali presided over the function. Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Solaiman emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering intellectual development among students. 'This programme will play a crucial role in enhancing the knowledge, talent, and critical thinking skills of students,' he stated.
The ceremony also saw the distribution of wheelchairs to 27 individuals with special needs and sewing machines to 22 trained women in the community, further emphasizing the inclusivity and support for marginalized groups in society.
