NARAYANGANJ: Three people lost their lives and five others were injured in two separate road accidents in Rupganj upazila on Friday morning. The incidents occurred in the Hatabo Jalapara area under Bhulta union, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in the region.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the first accident involved a private car that veered onto a footpath after the driver lost control, resulting in the deaths of Ram Das, 70, and Obaidul Munsi, 70. Both victims were residents of Hatabo-Atlaspur. Three others sustained injuries and were promptly transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident nearby, a motorcycle collided head-on with a brick-laden trolley, causing the death of Hridoy Mia. Two additional individuals were injured in this accident and were also taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Sub Inspector Zahir Miah, in-charge of the Bhulta Police Camp, confirmed that the drivers of both the private car and the trolley have been apprehended by authorities. The incidents have once again raised questions about traffic management and driver safety in the rapidly developing area.
