Dhaka: A total of 28,943 examinees were absent on the second day of the SSC and equivalent exams. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent exams began across the country on April 10 amid tight security measures. The information was revealed today through a press release signed by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Chairman and Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee President Professor Dr. Khandaker Ehasanul Kabir.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ehasanul Kabir stated that SSC exams are being conducted peacefully nationwide. He expressed hope that the upcoming exams will also maintain this peaceful environment. On the second day, 3,47,958 candidates were expected to attend 438 centers under the Dhaka Board, but only 3,44,062 participated, leaving 3,896 absent.
In the Chattogram Board, 1,69,306 candidates took part out of 1,71,162 registered examinees, resulting in 1,856 absentees. The Cumilla Education Board saw 1,50,432 out of 1,52,371 students attending across 273 centers, with 1,939 absent.
The Jashore Education Board reported 1,33,462 candidates present at 299 centers from 1,35,471 registered, showing 2,009 students absent. In Chattogram Board, 1,27,851 out of 1,29,199 students participated at 219 centers, with 1,348 absent.
Sylhet Education Board had 82,277 candidates attending out of 83,211, with 934 absent. Barishal Education Board saw 80,021 out of 81,273 candidates participating across 194 centers, leaving 1,252 absent.
Dinajpur Education Board reported 1,59,215 students present out of 1,60,582 registered, with 1,367 absent across 280 centers. In Mymensingh Education Board, 95,339 candidates attended out of 96,366, leaving 1,027 absent.
Under the Madrasah Education Board, 247,889 out of 258,379 students were present at 725 centers, with 10,490 absent. The Technical Education Board saw 1,34,239 candidates out of 1,37,064 attending across 699 centers, with 2,825 absent.
