Dhaka: A total of 27,819 examinees were absent, while 79 candidates and three invigilators were expelled on the fourth day of the SSC and equivalent exams across the country. The information was revealed today through a press release signed by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Chairman and Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee President Professor Dr. Khandaker Ehasanul Kabir.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ehasanul Kabir mentioned that the SSC examinations, which began across the country on April 10 under tight security, are being conducted in a peaceful environment nationwide. Despite the smooth conduct, a significant number of students failed to appear for their exams on the fourth day.
This year, under the Dhaka Board, 367,516 candidates were scheduled to appear, but 362,750 candidates participated, leaving 4,766 absent. Seven examinees were expelled in this board. In the Rajshahi Education Board, out of 175,171 examinees, 173,164 candidates took part, with 1,007 absent and two candidates expelled.
The Cumilla Board saw 150,392 examinees present out of 152,192 candidates, with 1,800 absent and 13 examinees expelled. Meanwhile, under the Jashore Education Board, 130,857 examinees appeared out of 132,830 candidates, with 1,973 absent, and four students expelled.
In the Chattogram Board, 128,557 candidates participated out of 129,941 examinees, leaving 1,348 absent. Sylhet witnessed 87,340 candidates appearing out of 88,447 examinees, with 1,107 absent and one invigilator expelled.
Under the Barishal Education Board, 80,359 examinees attended the exam out of 81,633 candidates, with 1,274 absent and seven expelled. In Dinajpur, 169,172 candidates participated out of 170,879 examinees, with 1,707 absent and seven expelled.
The Mymensingh Education Board had 100,243 examinees present out of 101,414 candidates, with 1,171 absent. Besides, seven examinees and two invigilators were expelled. In the Madrasha Education Board, 245,073 candidates took part out of 255,703 examinees, with 10,630 absent and 28 students expelled.
