2,67,736 Litigants Benefit from Alternative Dispute Resolution of Legal Aid

Dhaka: A total of 2,67,736 people have benefited from the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services provided by the National Legal Aid services.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, legal aid services were received by the public from 2009 to January 2025. Legal Aid sources revealed that 1,52,722 cases across 64 districts were forwarded by Legal Aid offices, while an additional 3,300 cases were managed by the Dhaka-Chattogram Labour Legal Assistance Cell specifically for ADR.



In total, 1,41,003 cases were successfully settled through ADR, assisting 2,67,736 litigants. The ADR services, funded by the government, aim to offer legal assistance to financially insolvent individuals, ensuring access to justice without the burden of traditional legal expenses.
