Dhaka: The special metropolitan magistrate court of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted summary trials in 257 cases of minor offences in past September.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 3,881 accused were arrested in 3,931 cases in September, as stated in a DMP press release.
Out of these, warrants and summons were issued to 3,145 accused, and fines amounting to Tk 352,900 were realized. These cases encompassed various offences including drugs, mobile snatching, theft, eve-teasing, illegally creating obstacles on the road, and traffic-related crimes.
