25 BRUR Students Injured in July 2024 Mass Uprising Receive Cheques, Certificates

Rangpur: July Shaheed Smrity Foundation distributed certificates and cheques to 25 students of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) injured in the July-August 2024 mass uprising in the city. The distribution programme took place at the Syndicate Meeting Room of the university’s administrative building, where Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali presented the certificates and checks to the 25 injured students on Tuesday afternoon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the event, Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali praised the students of Bangladesh, particularly those from Begum Rokeya University, for their courageous involvement in the July-August 2024 mass uprising. He emphasized the students’ significant contributions to the country’s future, acknowledging their sacrifices and expressing hope for their speedy recovery.



He expressed his gratitude to the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation for their support in providing medical care to the injured students of BRUR. Additionally, he extended his appreciation to the Medical Board, including the Principal of Rangpur Medical College, for their guidance in ensuring proper treatment for these students.



The event was overseen by Professor Dr. Md. Ileas Pramanik, Director of the Office of the Student Affairs of the university. It was chaired by Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid, Verification Head of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, with BRUR Registrar Dr. Md. Harun-or Rashid, Proctor Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of BRUR Medical Center Dr. A. M. Shahriar also in attendance.
