Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 23.6 percent, reaching US$1,707 million in the fourteen days of December, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today. Last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $1,381 million.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period from July to December 14, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances totaling $14,746 million. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the $12,519 million remitted during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The consistent rise in remittances highlights the crucial role expatriates play in supporting the national economy, providing significant foreign exchange reserves that contribute to economic stability. The growth in remittance inflow is seen as a positive development for the country’s financial landscape, potentially influencing economic policies and planning.
