22,120 Yaba Tablets Seized in Chandpur Anti-Drug Operation

Chandpur:A significant quantity of Yaba tablets, totaling 22,120, was confiscated in Chandpur during a special anti-drug operation conducted by the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) on Tuesday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was carried out after receiving a tip-off. A special team from the Chandpur DNC raided a flat in a building owned by Abul Hashem, located in the Nurullapur area of Bishnupur union under Sadar upazila.

The alleged drug dealer, Farhan Roni, aged 24, who had rented the flat, along with his associate Nur Hossain, managed to escape after becoming aware of the impending raid, as reported by Md Mizanur Rahman, assistant director of DNC Chandpur.

Authorities discovered 22,000 Yaba tablets hidden beneath the bed in a room occupied by Farhan. Additionally, 120 pills were found inside a motorcycle parked in the same room.

The street value of the seized Yaba tablets is estimated to be Tk 1.20 crore.
