A session of the Koshi Province Assembly has been put off till 11:00 am Friday. The meeting was adjourned due to a special reason.

The first meeting of the PA was postponed for 30 minutes and was rescheduled for 8:00 pm. Later, PA secretary Gopal Prasad Parajuli issued a notice at 9:30 pm informing about the adjournment of the meeting till 11:00 am Friday.

Though the Thursday's session of the PA was rescheduled for 1:00 pm, it commenced at 1:50 pm where Province Chief Minister Hikmat Bahadur Karki presented a proposal seeking a vote of confidence of the Assembly.

The proposal was tabled in the PA session in accordance with the Article 188 (2) of the Constitution and the Rule 128 (4) of the Koshi Province Assembly.

Tabling the proposal, Karki said the compulsion for the Province Government that was formed on January 9, 2023 to again seek a vote of confidence has not send a positive message to the national politics.

It may be noted that the decision of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Janata Samajbadi Party to quit the government impelled the Chief Minister to seek the vote of confidence.
