COX'S BAZAR: Two 18-year-old youths lost their lives when a bus collided with their motorbike in the Thaingkhali Bazar area of Ukhia upazila during the afternoon hours. The tragic incident unfolded on the busy Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road, a well-traveled route known for its frequent vehicular traffic.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims have been identified as Liton Gazi, hailing from the Khaliskhali area in Satkhira district, and Abdur Rahman, a resident of Ukhia Rohingya camp-12. The collision occurred around 1 p.m. when a Teknaf-bound bus struck the motorcycle as it traveled in the opposite direction. The impact was severe, resulting in the immediate deaths of both riders at the scene.
Mahabul Kabir, the officer-in-charge of Sahapori Highway police station, confirmed the details of the accident. He reported that police authorities promptly arrived at the scene, where they recovered the bodies and transported them to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for further procedures. The accident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf route, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
