Tarmugaria: Two siblings went missing while taking a bath in the Kumar river of the Tarmugaria area in Sadar upazila here today. The missing siblings were Kulsum Akhter, 11, and Minhaj, 7, both students of a local madrasa and children of Liton Matubbar from the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the two siblings went to the river for a bath this afternoon after returning from the madrasa without informing their parents. The incident occurred around 1 pm when they went missing while in the river, as reported by family sources.
Upon being informed, a fire service diver team arrived at the location and began searching for them, stated Liaqat Hossain, the leader of the team. The diver team is actively working to rescue the children, who had not been found by 5 pm.
