CHAPAINAWABGANJ, A Chapainawabganj court this afternoon

sentenced two persons to life-term imprisonment and fined each of them of

Taka 50,000 ,in default, two years more to suffer in jail for keeping heroin.

Senior session judge of Chapainawabganj Md Adeeb Ali announced this verdict

in presence of the convicts.

The convicted persons were Jubayer Alam, 30, son of Ruhul Amin of Avaya

village under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district and Kabir Hossain, 40,

son of Tofjul Islam of Sundarpur Bagdanga village under Chapainawabganj sadar

upazila.

According to the prosecution story, an operation team of RAB-5 from

Chapainawabganj camp raided Amnura Railbazar area in Chapainawabganj sadar

upazila on February 28, 2020 and arrested Jubayer with 750 grams of heroin

but Kabir fled away.

Nayeb Subedar Abu Taleb of RAB-5 filed a case with Chapainawabganj sadar

police station accusing the duo on the same day.

Investigating officer (IO) of the case sub-inspector Abu Hasan of sadar thana

submitted charge sheet against them to the court on March 31, 2020.

After long hearing the court handed down the punishment.
