Bhola: A total of 2,89,570 children in the district were fed vitamin A plus capsules today as part of ‘The National Vitamin-A Plus Campaign 2025’. Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Civil Surgeon of Bhola district, inaugurated the campaign at 8:00 am in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, children aged between 6 and 11 months were administered a blue Vitamin-A plus capsule each, while those aged between 12 and 59 months received a red capsule. The campaign involved 271 health assistants, 127 workers from the family planning department, 221 community health care providers (CHCP), and 2,216 volunteers working across 3,369 centers in the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Monirul Islam stated that upazila health and family planning officials, along with health department personnel, were actively involved in their respective upazilas. To ensure the event’s success, a mobile team operated in riverine areas, and coordinated efforts with volunteers facilitated the campaign at bus stations and launch terminals, he added.
