Chattogram: Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested 19 leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League from different parts of the city in the last 24 hours ended on Sunday night. They were arrested on different charges, including attacking protesters during the student-led July uprising and criminal offenses, CMP sources said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were part of an ongoing operation by the CMP to address incidents linked to the student-led July uprising. The uprising had resulted in significant disruptions, and authorities are working to identify those responsible for various criminal activities during that period.
The CMP has been conducting operations targeting individuals suspected of involvement in these incidents. The police are focused on maintaining law and order in the city, aiming to prevent further unrest and ensure the safety of its residents.
