14 Crime Suspects Arrested in Mohammadpur Drive

Dhaka: Police arrested 14 suspected criminals during a day-long special operation conducted across the Mohammadpur area of the capital on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that the operation was carried out on the basis of specific intelligence, targeting suspects in regular cases as well as those with outstanding warrants.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrestees were identified as Samir, 19, Jamal, 30, Sumon, 23, Sajib, 28, Russel, 45, Sohel, 28, Faizur, 19, Saju, 21, Sajedul Islam Tushar, 30, Sohel alias Tipu, 30, Arju, 33, Shamim, 38, Sajib, 25, and Abbas, 22. Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station Kazi Md Rafique Ahmed reported that police recovered 55 puria (small packets) of heroin and 20 yaba tablets from their possession during the drive.



He mentioned that all detainees were produced before the court following legal procedures. The special operations are set to continue to ensure smooth law and order in the area.
