127 poor people get zakat money, sewing machines in C’nawabganj

A total of 127 distressed and helpless people of the district were given zakat money and sewing machines under the Poverty Alleviation Programme of the government aimed at mitigating their financial crisis.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) AKM Galiv Khan distributed the money and sewing machines among 33 beneficiaries of Sadar upazila at a function as the chief guest at the DC office conference room yesterday.

Islamic Foundation, Chapainawabganj district office, organised the function. Deputy Director of the district office of Islamic Foundation Agriculturist Md. Mahmudar Rahman presided over the function.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Mahbub-Ul-Islam, beneficiaries Fatema Khatun and Nasrin spoke at the function.

Mahmudar Rahman disclosed that of the total number of beneficiaries, 33 people from Sadar upazila, 15 people from Shibganj upazila, 27 people from Gomastapur upazila, 38 people from Nachole upazila and 14 people from Bholahat upazila.
