12 DU Students Receive Scholarships for Academic Excellence

Dhaka: Twelve meritorious students of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded scholarships from two separate trust funds for good academic results. DU vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan handed over the scholarships to the students of the Political Science Department and Economics Department of the university today, said a university press release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, six students from the Economics Department received scholarships under the Professor Nazma Begum Trust Fund. The awardees are Sadia (1st year), Moin Uddin (1st year), Snoha Biswas Memory (2nd year), Md. Ashid Rahman (3rd year), Rahima Akhtar (4th year), and Md. Sumon Molya (M.S.S).

Under the Satirtha Forum Trust Fund, six more fresher students from the Political Science Department were awarded scholarships. They are Ratul Ahmed, Md. Furkan Ali, Farzana Akhter, Sohan Sheikh, Md. Jinnah Sarkar, and Kanak Chandra Barman.

The ceremony was attended by DU Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Chairperson of the Economics Department Professor Masuda Yasmin, Chairperson of the Political Science Department Professor Dr. Nasima Khatun, Retired Professor of the Department of Economics Dr. Nazma Begum, Retired Professor of the Department of Political Science Md. Ferdous Hossain, and Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, among others.
