Lalmonirhat: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu stated there is no alternative to employment generation for achieving economic and social self-reliance. He made this remark while inaugurating a daylong job fair organized by PRAN-RFL Group at Lalmonirhat District Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the job fair aimed to create employment opportunities for youths in the northern region and promote industrialization. During the inauguration, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to generating new employment opportunities across the country over the next five years, with a focus on expanding industrialization to provide job avenues for the youth.
Minister Dulu expressed optimism that the fair would enable approximately one thousand youths to secure employment. He highlighted the development disparity faced by Lalmonirhat, a bordering district in the northern region, where the lack of industries and limited employment opportunities have left many educated youths unemployed.
The minister revealed that PRAN-RFL Group was approached to consider establishing industries in the region, leveraging the agricultural potential of crops like paddy, wheat, maize, and potato. He noted that financial constraints prevent many educated youths from participating in recruitment exams held outside the district. Upon conveying this issue to PRAN-RFL authorities, they committed to providing jobs to one thousand youths through the job fair in Lalmonirhat.
Furthermore, the government is focusing on education expansion alongside employment generation. Initiatives are underway to distribute bicycles among girl students in the Teesta char areas to facilitate easier movement. Addressing job seekers, Minister Dulu encouraged the development of skilled manpower through employment across different parts of the country and urged youths to enhance their professional skills.
The event was attended by officials and employees of PRAN-RFL Group, senior local administration officials, and political leaders.
