Dhaka- The government has taken a 100-day programme for the flood affected people in haor area of six northeastern districts of the country.
"The government has taken a decision to distribute 30 kilograms of rice and cash Taka 500, each to 3.30 lakh flood affected families in every month," Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya here today told to the newsmen after an inter-ministerial meeting.
The meeting was organized by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat with Maya in the chair.
The minister said around 30,000-35,000 tonnes of rice would be distributed among the flood affected families while the total budget of the programme is Taka 50 crore.
Secretaries of water resources, agricultural, disaster management and relief, food, finance, fisheries and livestock ministries were present in the meeting.
