Woman killed ‘by son’ in Chuadanga

A 65-year-old woman was killed after her ‘mentally-challenged’ son hit her with a stick at Darshana in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Khode Banu, wife of Jamal Mallik of Shyampur village of Darshana.

Police said Idris Ali hit his mother’s head with a stick around 11 am when she asked him to switch-off the motor, leaving her seriously injured.

Later, the locals rushed her to a local clinic where doctors declared Khode Banu dead.

AHM Lutful Kobir, officer-in-charge of Darshana Police Station, said the body was sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police also arrested the killer son, the OC added.
