Walton compressor gets ACMI award

Walton compressor received the best paper award at the International Conference on Automation, Control and Mechatronics 4.0 (ACMI 2021).

The mechatronics engineering department of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology organised the international conference virtually during July 8-9.

Walton compressor won the award in the machine dynamics, mechanics and industry 4.0 category for its research paper “Determination of starting and running torque and their effects on a household refrigerator hermetic reciprocating compressor.”

Engineers Md Shamiul Islam and Md Zahid Hasan of Walton’s compressor research and development department presented the research paper at the conference.

ACMI is a leading international conference that aims to serve as a meeting place for high-quality education, research, and innovation in the area of mechatronics engineering and technology. This year, more than 50,000 participants attended the virtual conference.

University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and BATCO Engineering sponsored the international conference while the New York-based Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Bangladesh section was the co-sponsor.

Walton Compressor’s Chief Business Officer Rabiul Alam said, “We have already started the production of the compressor’s model, on which the award-winning research paper was presented at the international conference. Very low noise levels, as well as durability, are the unique features of the Walton compressor.”
