In an attempt to reclaim the low-cost phone market, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A03, a new ultra-affordable smartphone. On August 18, Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy A03s, highlighting the new model’s sophisticated features, such as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an improved Octa-Core CPU for a smoother experience. Following the introduction of the Galaxy A02s earlier this year, the A03s is the newest member of the A Series and is expected to be the most inexpensive at launch.
Samsung Galaxy A03s Full Review
Design
The Samsung Galaxy A03s features a fairly simple design, with no fancy finishes or patterns on the rear, as we’ve seen in other phones in this price bracket. The design here may not get a lot of notice, but users might personally mind the 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1 mm and 196g.
The phone’s build quality is poor since it is composed of plastic and does not feel expensive in any manner. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the power button on the phone’s right side.
The fingerprint sensor is in a really handy location, and no significant issue was found unlocking the phone; it’s extremely dependable. The button’s tactility can put users in despair.
The power button is squishy and rests too flat on the device’s chassis. As a result, people might become unable to find the button with my finger. The volume buttons is placed above the power button. People will have a substantial feel to them.
Display
It features a 6.5 inches PLS LCD display with a resolution of up to 720p. That is much more quality and promise than the price of comparable entry-level phones. Extra-large and higher-quality screens are uncommon in low-cost phones. The phone’s display has a 60Hz refresh rate, which adds to its toughness. It’s lays a definite promise about the display to provide a satisfying experience.
The lowered brightness level, however, can be an issue for the users. It adds two kinds of impacts. The colors on the screen seem less normal, and the display turns totally black in direct sunlight. To work, the brightness level must be adjusted to the maximum. A teardrop camera housing can be seen in the upper right corner of the display. Users will find the chin and bezel of the phone much smaller. As a result, users will not be bothered by these when viewing movies or playing games.
The Rear Lens Setup
The main camera panel has three cameras. The main camera has a 13MP wide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The pictures produced by these lenses are mediocre, and nothing out of the ordinary will be produced by Samsung Galaxy A03s cameras.
The cameras don’t have a sufficient dynamic ratio. The pictures delivered by the cameras appear to have warmer tone. Users might find the overall look of the picture a bit more appealing because of the extra warm tone. In low light, the contrast increases. However, photos captured at night take additional care from users before looking expectable. With the main camera, users will be able to shoot videos at 30fps for a highest 1080p resolution.
Front Lens
A 5MP front camera is placed in a teardrop camera holder. Given the trend in previous low-cost phones, the Galaxy A03s may easily have an 8MP front-facing camera. The front camera doesn’t perform much to provide much brightness to the image. This results in clearer and smoother pictures. Portrait mode photographs are of mediocre quality and offer nothing to their side.
Performance, Software and UI
The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 processor. This chipset is more likely to be found in low- to mid-range phones. However, Galaxy A03s Plus has made it in their low-cost phone. The PowerVR GE8320 GPU has been fitted to complement the CPU. When these qualities are combined, the phone provides excellent regular processing performance and low-level gaming. The newly launched 3GB 64GB version outperforms a few old models from the same company in multitasking and app browsing.
However, the overall performance is poor since the phone slows while playing high-resolution games like PUBG and Call of Duty. Users should avoid playing such games on this phone since it would put a strain on the CPU.
When it comes to the skin, even the latest Galaxy A03s Plus releases have included the Android 11version, which is still the last version of the Android.
Battery and Charging
The Galaxy A03s features a massive 5000mAh battery. Even for a heavy user, the battery will easily endure more than a day. Which is sufficient enough for people who need to work outside and don’t get to charge the phone for a long time.
There are no issues with this phone’s battery life. However, if anyone decides to get this phone, he should keep in mind that the charging time is very sluggish. Because the phone only comes with a 15W fast charging system. This is the kind of phone that must be charged overnight.
It takes almost 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge it from 0% to 100%.
Price of Samsung Galaxy A03s in Bangladesh
The phone is still not available in Bangladesh. In the Indian market, the powerful 4GB × 64GB version is officially priced BDT 14,379. The conversion rate applied here is 1 INR = 1 BDT.
The Samsung Galaxy A03s is all over another standard budget-friendly phone from Samsung. It doesn’t add much to other average phones available in the market.
The display, design, camera, and overall performance are all mediocre. In this price range, people may get better phones from other manufacturers, such as the Realme C20, Redmi 9C, and Realme C21, to mention a few.
