He said while a delegation led by its Vice Chancellor Dr. Sharfuddin Ahmed called on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.
President’s Press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed the reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, the BSMMU VC apprised the President of the overall activities of the University.
The delegation also included Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. AKM Mosharraf Hossain, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Chayef Uddin Ahmed and Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Nazrul Islam Khan.
Appreciating the role of BSMMU, doctors and nurses during corona pandemic Hamid, however, said the focus on Covid-19 should not overlook patients suffering from other diseases.
He also said this biggest medical university in the country should be turned into a place of utmost comfort zone in diagnosing diseases, providing medical services and treating patients and relatives.
Secretary to the President’s Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salauddin Islam were also present on the occasion.
