FM Momen mourns Desmond Tutu’s death

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has expressed deep shock at the death of Nobel peace prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Tutu, who helped end apartheid in South Africa, has died at the age of 90.

In a condolence message on Sunday, the Foreign Minister said the world will forever remember the role of Desmond Tutu in his struggle to eradicate the practice of apartheid.

He said Tutu’s contribution to the achievement of an independent South Africa was unforgettable.

Dr Momen said an iconic anti-apartheid and human rights activist left the world with Tutu’s demise.

He wished eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
