At least 17 shops were gutted as a fire broke out at a furniture market in Mirkadin of Munshiganj district in the small hours of Sunday.
The Fire broke out at a furniture shop around 12:30 am and spread soon, said Abu Yusuf, senior station officer of Munshiganj Fire Station .
On information, three fire tenders were pressed into the service and it took them an hand an hour and a half to fully douse the flames.
Fortunately, no causality was reported.
It is still not clear what caused the fire. However, efforts are on to identify the reason behind it.
