ACC to submit report after drive at BSTI

The Anti- Corruption Commission ( ACC) on Monday conducted a drive at the Bangladesh Standard Testing Institute (BSTI).

The commission conducted the drive as it received the complaints regarding sale of goods in the market using fake seals of BSTI by mixing adulterated and substandard ingredients in food items, and renewal of certificates without checking the quality of products in collusion with some dishonest officials and employees of BSTI.

Assistant director Jesmin Akter and deputy assistant director Aftahi Un Nabi led the drive, said deputy director of ACC public relations office Muhammad Arif Sadeq.

During the operation, the team spoke to the concerned officials including the director of BSTI about the allegations and collected and reviewed the relevant records.

The enforcement team will submit a report to the commission recommending effective action after reviewing the records.
