Two people were killed in a road crash near Bangabandhu Square at Gulistan in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased were identified as Zakir, 30, and Shakil,15, cleaners of Raj Hotel.
The accident occurred at around 2.30 am when they were dumping garbage in a dustbin, said Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamim Hossain.
Paltan patrol police took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared them dead.
Police seized the truck and arrested its driver.
