Trimoyee, a startup working for women, organised an eye treatment camp at a ready-made garment (RMG) factory in the capital Sunday.

Citing a report of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Farzana Afser, co-founder of Trimoyee, said 27% of workers are suffering from eye disorders and diseases. The situation is responsible for their inefficiency and leading to lower production.

So, with the support of the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI) and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, Trimoyee launched the eye camp at Evince Garments in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Lions Foundation was the joint partner of Trimoyee. They have extended their hands to help cure the eye disorders and diseases of underprivileged workers in factories. This initiative will also increase the production capacity of the factories, according to a media statement.

DBCCI President Md Anwar Shawkat Afser was present as chief guest and Farhtheeba Rahat Khan, team leader of RMG inclusive business programmes at SNV Netherlands, was the special guest at the event.

Mr Ashraf Hossain Mridha, executive director of Evince Garments, conducted the event. Md Shakawat Hossain Mamun, secretary-general of DBCCI, concluded the inaugural session by thanking the organisers.
